The Bad Boy Running Podcast

Running is great, so why aren't the podcasts? Bad Boy Running is a podcast for runners who are bored of the dull and dry podcasts currently on offer. Hosted by friends Jody Raynsford and David Hellard, both running journalists, bloggers and lovable idiots, the show features the conversations they'd have in the pub focusing as much on the camaraderie and social side of the sport as the technical.

After a brief discussion of Lee’s progress on the Monarch’s Way, the guys talk about David’s ambitions to be a Celebrant which would give him to power to marry people (without their consent sometimes).

Twenty minutes in the guys give a formal intro to the podcast and then discuss the topics for today’s episode.

Jody runs very far, we find out his experience of this and how it compares to other races he’s done and David yells at people at London Marathon. All of the yelling is very justified.

Yes, it's the SPECIAL you've been waiting for...

The guys speak to Do-Badder Lee-stuart Evans while he's en-route to the start of The Monarch's Way Ultra - a 615-mile race along one of the country's longest trails.

Lee talks about the ridiculous challenge he's facing, what he's going to eat, how he's going to cope with running on his own for two weeks and why he needs the Do-Badders to help keep him motivated.

Yes, it's the final part of the Do-Badder A-Z and the guys kick off with none other than R and "Marathon Man" Rob Young right through to Z and the 0.0 race.

But that's not before, Jody and David discuss the latest sub-2 hour marathon attempt and whether they think it's a good or bad thing.

In this episode the guys discuss the recent MdS with the person who came 3rd place, Captain Tom Evans! This Brit came from, seemingly, nowhere and did incredibly well on his first ever multi-day ultra. He's certainly one to look out for in the future and the guys discuss his training and experience of the race.

After the main interview there's a recap of the progress of some of the Do Badders who did the Marathon des Sables this year and then some talk of this year's Running Awards.
