The Bad Boy Running Podcast

Running is great, so why aren't the podcasts? Bad Boy Running is a podcast for runners who are bored of the dull and dry podcasts currently on offer. Hosted by friends Jody Raynsford and David Hellard, both running journalists, bloggers and lovable idiots, the show features the conversations they'd have in the pub focusing as much on the camaraderie and social side of the sport as the technical.

In this episode Jody and David are joined by Allie Bailey. She's a Do-Badder who has set herself a rather awe-inspiring challenge this year. They discuss what got her into running in the first place, how she's built up to running all these epic events, and how she stays injury free.

She also starts the ball rolling for a charitable campaign that the Bad Boy Running community can get involved in.

The guys start off by talking about Jody's long term running goals and come to some interesting conclusions.

It's a fairly running-heavy podcast today (sorry!) as they talk about David's experience of Questars and his own personal quest of trying to get Jody to ride a bike in a race. The OMM also features and David talks us through the gorgeous views, his excellent map work, and once again our favourite triathlete features fairly heavily.

At the end there's a summary of some Bad Boy Running Facebook Group activity and some feedback.

Jody and David talk about what Liege looks like in beer goggles following the success of the Beer Lovers' Marathon.

David talks us through what the first few hours of the marathon was like and then Jody begins to take over as Hellard realises he can't remember all that much. David ends up racing part of the event for the sake of his wallet and Jody comes close to a lifetime Personal Best.

WARNING: Listening to this podcast will either cause serious jealousy or serious nostalgia depending on whether you were there or not. Listen with care.

It's finally here! After a year of building up to Nuts Challenge, Jody finally gets the chance to run the course.

Spoiler: it didn't go quite to plan.

David and special guest Pete Rees from Mudstacle go back over the race with Jody to discover what went well, what went badly and what makes Nuts such a special race (hint: it's not the abuse).

Jody reveals all his mistakes in the build-up (including an abortive attempt at CrossFit) and his cut-off woes.

If you've not watched the video, check out the attempt here on MustacleTV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0eDj-GId1c&t=312s

And he answers the BIG QUESTION: will he attempt 4 laps of Winter Nuts next year?
